B.S. Geology  09’

Indiana University Northwest

Personal info: I am from Northwest Indiana, just a few miles from Lake Michigan. The big industry back home is steel and I worked in a steel mill, at the continuous caster, before attending college. The molten steel I worked with reminded me of basaltic eruptions I had seen on television programs. When I decided to leave the mill and go to school I signed up for a G-101 course and now I’m in Lincoln. Dr. David Watkins is my advisor here at UNL.

Research Interest: I am interested in geology as it is applied in industry. I hope to have a career in the petroleum industry eventually. I am currently working with my advisor Dr. David Watkins in micropaleontology; specifically calcareous nannofossils. I will soon decide on a thesis topic.
