Iowa State University/ UNL Geology Field Camp at Shell, WyomingThe UNL Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences combines with Iowa State University's Department of Geosciences to conduct our 6-week field camp at the Iowa State University Field Station, just outside of Shell, Wyoming at the base of the Big Horn Mountains and in the Big Horn Basin. |
Field Camp 2006: May 28 - July 8
Scholarships, funded by our Alumni Advisory Board, are available to eligible UNL students. Scholarships are also available from the National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT). Deadlines for these are early! In 2005, the deadline was Feb. 15.
Dr. Howard White of Kerr-Mcgee and Rick Chamberlain of Strategic Decisions visit us for a week each summer to share their expertise and lead field- and core-based exercises in petroleum exploration, water and environmental studies.

Upcoming Deadlines
Applications and deposits ($100) are due March 1, 2006. Send check with application to DeAnn Frisk at ISU. Final payments (to be determined by ISU Board of Regents early in 2006) will be due at the ISU office May 1, 2006. These costs apply to in-state Nebraska students only. Any non-Nebraskan student interested in our camp will get a better financial deal by applying through Iowa State University. Our field camp is co-conducted with ISU.
