UNL Geology Field Camp

Iowa State University/ UNL Geology Field Camp at Shell, Wyoming

The UNL Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences combines with Iowa State University's Department of Geosciences to conduct our 6-week field camp at the Iowa State University Field Station, just outside of Shell, Wyoming at the base of the Big Horn Mountains and in the Big Horn Basin.

Field Camp 2006: May 28 - July 8

Scholarships, funded by our Alumni Advisory Board, are available to eligible UNL students. Scholarships are also available from the National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT). Deadlines for these are early! In 2005, the deadline was Feb. 15.

Dr. Howard White of Kerr-Mcgee and Rick Chamberlain of Strategic Decisions visit us for a week each summer to share their expertise and lead field- and core-based exercises in petroleum exploration, water and environmental studies.
